Special Room on Second Floor for Nursing Mothers

Friday, June 28, 2013 - 3:24pm

A room on the second floor has been converted for use by nursing mothers.

A restroom beside the bookstore on the second floor has been renovated for use by nursing mothers.

Nursing mothers now have more privacy at The University of Texas School of Dentistry, where a second-floor restroom beside the bookstore has been converted for use as a lactation room for breastfeeding.  Although the room is intended for use by faculty, staff and students, it’s unlikely a patient who needed it would be turned away.

Two chairs, two tables and two privacy screens to divide the space are available in “Room 2T06,” which also has an electrical outlet.  The sink, mirror, soap and paper towels were retained from the room’s original design as a unisex restroom.

The door has a turn lock on the inside. If necessary, a key is available from the Dean’s Office (Suite 6350).
