Happy Go Texan Day! It’s rodeo time in Houston, and that means denim, boots and, best of all, barbecue.  In the spirit of the season, Dean John A. Valenza, DDS, invites all School of Dentistry faculty, staff, students and residents to enjoy a free barbecue lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 10 in the Cooley Center patio and lobby. Western attire is encouraged.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™, set for March 4-23, has been an annual event for more than 80 years, with approximately 27,000 volunteers contributing time, resources and talent to stage the world's largest livestock exhibition, the world's richest regular-season rodeo, and the Southwest's premier entertainment event.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ was organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes to encourage and promote the breeding, raising and marketing of better livestock and farm products at public fairs and to promote and maintain research and educational functions within the livestock industry.
