UTSD Family & Friends Association Officers Carol Nelson (left) and Pam Sowa encourage others to join.
The University of Texas School of Dentistry Family and Friends Association is seeking new members. The organization is open to parents, spouses or friends of UTSD students. Levels of membership and fees are listed on the group’s Membership Form.
The Family and Friends Association provides assistance for the school’s annual dental and dental hygiene White Coat Ceremonies and Open Houses, a barbecue for freshmen, a holiday dance and dental prom, emergency student loans, improvements to the Student Lounge, snacks during final exams, and graduation banquets for dental and dental hygiene students. The association also helps with the annual Dental Olympics.
The association’s president, Pam Sowa, spoke at the recent white coat ceremonies for new students, and also wrote an open letter to prospective members:
Dear Family and Friends,
The University of Texas School of Dentistry Family and Friends Association is an organization of dental and dental hygiene parents, spouses, families and friends who want to support their students’ activities,
programs and projects. New members are always welcome and encouraged to be as active as possible.
When parents and spouses find themselves considering membership, the question naturally arises:
“What will I get for joining the association?” You’ll benefit by being connected to the UTSD community
that is now your student’s home away from home. You’ll meet other UTSD parents and spouses and get
the peace of mind that comes from having a resource for getting answers to questions or help when you
wouldn’t otherwise know where to begin. You’ll be supporting your student’s school.
If you need more information, please contact me at email@example.com or 713-443-4571. I hope you
will consider membership in the UT School of Dentistry Family and Friends Association (Houston).
Together, we can make our students’ lives a little easier. Please support us by signing up today and/or purchasing our mugs, tumblers or T-shirts. We now accept cash, checks and credit cards.
