Dr. Fehmida Dosani, a 2013 graduate of The University of Texas School of Dentistry Pediatric Residency Class, has received the James R. Roche Award of Excellence for achieving the highest score on the Qualifying Examination of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She also received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring in the top 3 percent on the same exam.
The "Peabody Award" for the Outstanding Pediatric Resident in the 2013 Graduating Class has been awarded to Dr. Brett T. Chiquet. Since graduating, Dr. Chiquet has become a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at UTSD. Dr. Chiquet spends 50 percent of his time doing research and the other 50 percent teaching postgraduate students.
A grant-funded collaboration between The University of Texas School of Dentistry's Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Texas Children's Hospital is bringing pediatric residents together with cardiology residents and fellows to enhance mutual understanding and improve patient outcomes.
