Dr. Badger is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where he is also Program Director of the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program. He is a consultant to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a past president of the Board. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association College of Diplomates, and he is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Badger is a retired U.S. Army colonel. During his military career , he was appointed as consultant to the U.S. Army Surgeon General in Pediatric Dentistry (twice) and as Consultant in Pediatric Dentistry for the U.S. Army-Europe Commanding General. In Texas, he was employed by the Scott & White Health Care System as a pediatric dentist for six years before starting a private practice in College Station, TX for 13 years.
He joined the faculty of The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 2008 as a volunteer, becoming department chair in 2012. He has previously taught at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, The University of Louisville in Kentucky, the Medical College of Virginia, and the United States Army Pediatric Dentistry Residency.
