Dr. Gisela Velasquez is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry. She completed her pediatric dental training, as well as her master's degree in science, at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She also holds a Pediatric Dentistry Certificate from Universidad de Chile, as well as a DDS from Universidad Autonoma de Honduras.
Aside from teaching the specialty to the dental students and residents, she practices in UTHealth School of Dentistry's Postgraduate Pediatric Dentistry Clinic at 6655 Travis St. in the Houston Medical Center Building. She is a member of the AAPD, IADT and HAPD. As a member of the university's Cleft and Craniofacial Team, she is involved with presurgical molding of infants with cleft lip and palate. Her main interest is the prevention of dental trauma in children.
