Dr. Klein is a professor of immunology in the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences. His research focuses on understanding fundamental immunobiological properties that control and regulate mammalian T cell responses in both healthy and disease conditions. He is also examining the functional integration of the immune system and the neuroendocrine system.
After completing his postdoctoral studies, Dr. Klein held faculty positions at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California, The University of California at San Diego, and The University of Tulsa in Oklahoma. He has been the recipient of several research awards, is the Editor-In-Chief of the Open Immunology Journal, and has served on the editorial boards of, or as an ad-hoc reviewer for, more than 30 scientific journals. His research has been funded continually by the National Institutes of Health for 26 years.
