Dr. Ralph Cooley is an associate professor focusing on patient care with second-, third-, and fourth-year dental students. After joining the School of Dentistry faculty in 1991, he spent 14 years as an attending in the General Practice Residency program one day a week.
He has been involved with organized dentistry in many capacities. He has served as president of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry, served on the national AGD Board of Directors for six years, the ADA Council on Dental Benefit Programs, and the ADA Code Revision Committee. He has served as a delegate to the Texas Dental Association House of Delegates, the AGD House, and the ADA House. Currently, he serves on the executive committee of the Dental Quality Alliance, and the AGD Foundation Board.
In 2009, he was named Texas Dentist of the Year by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry and was awarded the TAGD Lifetime Service Award.
