Dr. Rachel Bishop is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas A&M University. She then attended Dental School at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston where she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Bishop obtained her Medical Degree from The University of Texas School of Medicine (McGovern Medical) in Houston and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. She completed her residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the largest medical center in the world, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Bishop’s passion for treating patients with facial differences led her to pursue specialized Fellowship training in Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and later obtain a Certificate of Added Qualification in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery granted by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Bishop is adept at all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with an emphasis on pediatric craniofacial deformities including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, and other dentofacial conditions. Dr. Bishop is known for treating her young patients like family and parents are secure knowing their children will be treated with the utmost care and compassion.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Bishop participates in international philanthropical efforts to deliver surgical care to patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. Her hobbies include wakeboarding, fishing, and spending time with her husband and their three dogs.
