Traveling art exhibit displays illustrates gratitude across UTHealth Houston

A traveling art exhibit, “The Art of Gratitude,” displayed the beauty of gratitude and philanthropy across the UTHealth Houston campus spanning the end of September to mid-November.

Featuring nine original pieces by Houston artists, each artist sought to illustrate the strength of the many people who came together during the Many Faces. One Mission. fundraising campaign — and how collective effort makes an impact.

In total, the seven-year philanthropic campaign raised $534.4 million from 11,315 donors. Nearly 1,200 donors gave a total of $20.5 million toward advancing the School of Dentistry’s mission of improving oral health to improve overall health. From new scholarships for future dentists and dental hygienists, to faculty endowments and research funds, to a new Mobile Dental Van that allows us to better serve communities in need, we made significant strides in advancing oral health — and thus improving overall health.

Making four, two-week stops across campus, UTHealth Houston communities were encouraged to take a moment to reflect on the beauty gratitude brings to life by walking through the traveling art exhibit. The artwork is also featured in a commemorative book, with a digital version online.
