6/11/18 KTRK-TV Channel 13 ran tips provided by the School of Dentistry on how to prevent bad breath.
6/13/18 Assistant Professor Ashley Clark, DDS, provided comments to ADA News about a recent workshop on modern dentistry.
6/4/18 Assistant Professor Natalie Pereira Sanchez, DDS, appeared on Univision's regional news show Primera Edicion to discuss the use of dental sealants to prevent cavities in children and adolescents. The program also airs in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.
5/26/18 Watch Univision Houston Channel 45 at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26 for an interview with Antonio Dario Cardenas, DDS, MS, about treatment options for chipped and cracked teeth.
4/7/18 Advance publicity for the "Texas Taste Teaser" included an appearance by Dean John Valenza on KPRC-TV Channel 2, where he got up early to talk and showed up early with a batch of his “family famous” homemade chili, which he planned to enter in the Texas-style, culinary competition benefiting the school.
3/23/18 Science Newsline featured stem cell research by School of Dentistry student Kelsea Hubka.
3/07/18: Simon Young, DDS, MD, PhD, was cited in TMC News about a new cancer treatment that uses a slow-release hydrogel to deliver immunotherapy. The gel was developed by a Rice University researcher in collaboration with Young at UTHealth.
2/23/18: In conjunction with the nationwide Give Kids A Smile program, the School of Dentistry and Greater Houston Dental Society provided free care to nearly 300 underserved children on Friday, Feb. 23. The community service event, which included a visit by U.S. Rep. Al Green, was covered by Telemundo Houston Channel 47.
1/07/18 Maryam Tabrizi, DMD, MPH, RDH, spoke to KPRC Radio's Fifty+ show about the importance of geriatric oral health. According to the American Dental Association, one fifth of people age 75 and older haven’t been to dentist in past five years.
12/20/17 No one wants to talk to the person at the holiday party with bad breath. Community Outreach Director Margo Melchor, RDH, MEd, EdD, was scheduled to speak with a KTRH radio reporter about short-term and long-term solutions.
