Center for Craniofacial Research, Pediatric Research Center hold 2025 Annual Joint Retreat

The Center for Craniofacial Research (CCR) and the Pediatric Research Center (PRC) hosted their 2025 Annual Joint Retreat in the spring.

Ninety-one attendees heard from keynote speakers Ramesha Papanna, MD, MPH, co-director of the UTHealth Houston Fetal Center; and Katherine Fantauzzo, PhD, associate professor in craniofacial biology at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.

The CCR/PRC retreat allowed trainees of all disciplines to share the latest research developments and findings from their respective UTHealth Houston labs and participate in Q&A sessions.

The top three awardees were recognized during the Poster Blitz session, and one winner was selected for the best poster among the student, postdoc, and research staff categories.

Distinguished Teaching Professor Jacqueline Hecht, PhD, serves as director of the Center for Craniofacial Research and division head of the Pediatric Research Center.

The Center for Craniofacial Research was established in 2013 as a collaborative endeavor between UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry and McGovern Medical School.

The CCR/PRC retreat was held April 22 in the Denton A. Cooley, MD and Ralph C. Cooley, DDS University Life Center.
