The Doctor of Dental Surgery program offers a strong foundation in biomedical and behavioral sciences alongside an outstanding clinical education. Students participate in traditional classroom learning but also experience the structure of a dental practice as they learn with both live and virtual patients.
The Dental Hygiene Program provides exceptional clinical and academic opportunities for students interested in preventive oral health and the promotion of good health habits. The School of Dentistry is the only Houston-area school offering a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree.
Our Advanced Education Programs begin with competent dentists and broaden their knowledge of specialized areas of study. We offer two types of programs: Degree and Certificate.
The International Dentist Education Program (IDEP) at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry consists of a pathway leading to a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree program for dentists who have obtained their dental degree outside the United States.
The School of Dentistry offers numerous courses for all disciplines of dentistry, including general dentists, specialists, dental hygienists and dental assistants.
The PACE Center at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry offers non-degree dental preceptorships for U.S. and internationally trained dentists, researchers, and scholars seeking advanced clinical, didactic, or laboratory training. Participants gain educational enrichment and hands-on experience through seminars, collaboration, and skill development in specialty areas.
