UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry will host a blood drive in conjunction with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.

Donors must be at least 18 years old and present valid ID. Appointments are strongly encouraged and may be made online.

More than 800 donations per day are needed by patients in the Texas Gulf Coast region. One blood donation could help save up to three lives.

To schedule your appointment, please visit Go.uth.edu/blood-drive. For more information, contact Stefanie Villafana, blood drive coordinator, at 346-320-7453 or svillafana@giveblood.org.

The School of Dentistry routinely holds blood drives throughout the calendar year. At its March 1 date, 21 units of blood were collected, which will be used to save 63 lives. Remaining 2022 dates include Sept. 20 and Dec. 6, both Tuesdays.

UTHealth Houston’s Miscellaneous Leave Policy (HOOP 185) allows paid time off for eligible employees to donate blood up to four times per fiscal year. Documentation is required.
