Mandola’s Catering took home two awards at UTHealth School of Dentistry’s second Texas Taste Teaser, a benefit to support the school’s community outreach care of children, the elderly and homeless veterans.

Mandola’s won the People’s Choice Award, as well as the award for “Most Delicious” in the Professional Chef Category. Guests attending the event voted for the people’s choice winner, but a team of volunteer celebrity judges decided on the other awards.

The judges included NFL referee and school alum Walt Anderson, DDS; Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña; Chef Michael Cordúa and Ashandra Batiste-Cumby, DDS, star of Bravo’s “Married to Medicine Houston.” Emcees were “Texas Tooth Lady” and alum Terri Alani, DDS, and Chef David Cordúa of Cordúa Restaurants.  Event co-chairs were UTSD alumni Margo Melchor, RDH, EdD; and Afshan Kaviani Anderson, DDS, wife of celebrity judge Walt Anderson.
