Raha Naderi is an assistant professor at the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry Houston in 2009, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. She received her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston in December 2020.
She has practiced as a clinical Dental Hygienist for almost 13 years until last year, when she began her current academic career.
She is a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), and Dental Hygiene Educators of Texas (DHET). She is currently the president of the Greater Houston Dental Hygienists’ Association (GHDHA). She also served as GHDHA Vice President and chair of the educational programs in 2023-2024 and the Trustee from 2022-2023. She also served as the faculty advisor for the Student Chapter American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SCADHA) from 2021-2024 and as a delegate for the Texas Dental Hygienists’ Association.
In 2021, she received the Lorna J. Bruning Award, which recognizes a faculty member demonstrating exceptional knowledge and competence toward effective learning. In 2024, she received the GHDHA Esther Wilkins Award, which recognizes an ADHA Member who has demonstrated exceptional service to the profession and the community and demonstrates leadership qualities.
