Biosketch
Dr. Saponaro serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. With a distinguished career spanning over a decade, Dr. Saponaro is recognized for her expertise in prosthodontics, advanced restorative techniques, and digital dentistry.
Dr. Saponaro earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree with Honor Roll distinction from the Universidad del Zulia in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she worked in private practice. Committed to advancing her skills and knowledge to better serve patients, she completed a Preceptorship in Prosthodontics, which led her to pursue a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry degree from UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. Additionally, she has completed a range of specialized fellowships in Academic Health Careers, Oral Implantology, and Neuro-Occlusal Rehabilitation.
As an educator, Dr. Saponaro is actively engaged in the instruction of both clinical and didactic courses and is committed to fostering the integration of contemporary technologies and prosthodontic treatments to prepare students for excellence in dental practice.
In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Saponaro is actively involved in professional service. She is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the UT Prosthodontic Alumni Association, and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). Her professional interests encompass a wide range of areas, including implant dentistry, digital dentistry, occlusion, geriatric care, and CAD/CAM restorative technologies.
