Dr. Claudia Ruiz Brisuela, an associate professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, joined our faculty in 2018.

She earned her DDS degree with an emphasis in public health in 2010 from the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, where she also completed her undergraduate and pre-medical studies. Her thesis project focused on the buffering capacity of saliva in 7- and 8-year-old children. Dr. Ruiz Brisuela expanded her expertise with a one-year certification program in prosthodontics, a three-month certification program, and ongoing continuing education in cosmetic dentistry.

With over 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Ruiz Brisuela has worked as a dentist in various clinics in Costa Rica and as a professor at UTHealth School of Dentistry. As a faculty member, she actively participates in preclinical and clinical teaching and research. Dr. Ruiz Brisuela has been involved with professional organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and the Society for Color and Appearance in Dentistry (SCAD).

Dr. Ruiz Brisuela is deeply committed to improving the oral health and overall well-being of her patients. Her vocation is to serve and enhance the well-being of others through her expertise in dentistry.
