Taressa C. Visor became Director of Alumni Affairs, Continuing Dental Education and Events at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in August 2016. She joined the UTSD staff in 2014 as Assistant Director of Development in the Office of the Dean. In that role, she built vital partnerships with UTSD alumni and friends to meet the university's endowment goals — working to unite donor passions with university priorities. She managed a portfolio of more than 100 individual prospects and was responsible for stewardship of major gifts, endowments and annual-giving contributions from donors.
She has been actively involved in raising funds to support a variety of UTSD’s community outreach activities, including Give Kids a Smile Day (in partnership with the Greater Houston Dental Society) and Give Veterans a Smile Day.
Prior to joining UTSD, Visor was executive vice president of the Angleton Chamber of Commerce, a 500-member organization in Brazoria County. She joined the chamber staff in 2004 as Administrative Assistant to the Director and was promoted to Director of Operations and Members in 2007. She became Executive Vice President in 2011.
Visor is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is a volunteer board member for the Angleton-Area Emergency Medical Corps. She has also volunteered to help nonprofit organizations facilitate board development and retreat-planning.
