Dr. Ritu Tiwari is an assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences at the UTHealth School of Dentistry in Houston. Prior to joining UTHealth, Dr. Tiwari completed a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of California, Los Angeles; and was an academic affiliate at University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied the development of biosensors for performing pharmacokinetic measurements in animal models. Dr. Tiwari’s prior work experiences in India include working as a consultant oral radiologist for multiple CBCT imaging centers and as a clinical data scientist for IQVIA, a leading research organization, where she contributed to the mining and analyses of clinical trial data.
Dr. Tiwari has contributed to the scientific literature through peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for scientific journals. Her work has been recognized with key awards, including the Albert G. Richards Graduate Research Grant (2021) by American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR) and a Diagnostic Challenge Prize at the 2021 annual meeting of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR). In recognition of her professional service, Dr. Tiwari was acknowledged at the 73rd annual meeting of AAOMR (2022).
Dr. Tiwari is an active member of AAOMR, ASHNR, ASHNR Young Professionals Committee (2022-23), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), American Dental Association (ADA), American Association for Women in Radiology (AAWR), and Asian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMFR).
