Dr. Brett Chiquet is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry. He earned his DDS from the UTHealth School of Dentistry and his PhD from the UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in 2011 and completed his postdoctoral training in Pediatric Dentistry from the UTHealth School of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Chiquet joined the faculty at the School of Dentistry in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in August of 2013, where 50% of his time is spent with the pre-docs and 50% of his time spent pursuing his research interest - the genetics of cleft lip and palate. Dr. Chiquet's research projects focus around identifying genes involved in orofacial clefting etiology and using animal models to elucidate gene function in craniofacial development.
