Theresa M. Dufrene, MSDH, RDH, BS, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Dental Hygiene Program at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, within the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene. With 30 years of clinical dental hygiene experience, she has worked extensively in family and pediatric dental practices throughout the Houston area. Ms. Dufrene joined UTHealth Houston in 2018, where she teaches both didactic and clinical courses. In 2020, she became the Clinic Coordinator for second-year dental hygiene students, bringing her extensive clinical expertise and commitment to education to the role. Additionally, she actively participates in various committees at UTHealth, contributing to the institution’s mission. Ms. Dufrene is deeply engaged in the professional community. She is a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), and the Dental Hygiene Educators of Texas (DHET). She currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Greater Houston Dental Hygienists' Association, reflecting her dedication to leadership and professional development in the field.
