Dr. Sridhar Eswaran is an associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Eswaran received his dental degree in 2001. Upon completion of his dental degree, he sought advanced research training in oral biology at Stony Brook University in New York, where he studied the link between gum and heart disease. After completing his master's degree from New York, he proceeded to his specialty training in periodontics and implant dentistry at UT, where he received a specialty certificate in periodontics and an MSD.
Dr. Eswawran is a board-certified periodontist and a diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology. He specializes in implant dentistry and the treatment of gum disease. He is actively involved in clinical and educational research in periodontics and implant dentistry. His area of interest is bone regeneration using growth factors and host modulation. His research has been presented in various national and international conferences. He was also the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Fellowship to the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning in the Health Profession.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), and American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
