Dr. Phil Pierpont is a professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. As an undergraduate, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University before enrolling at the School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 1977 and went on to earn a postgraduate certificate in fixed prosthodontics in 1982. His professional memberships include ADA tripartite membership, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, the American Dental Education Association, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Pierpont's career in dental education has included serving as associate dean for student and alumni affairs, as well as chair of the Department of Occlusion and Fixed Prosthodontics and director of Advanced Education. He is also a past chair of the ADEA Section on Student Affairs and Financial Aid and has served as councilor of that section. He is very active in the ADA, Texas Dental Association and the Greater Houston Dental Society, where he is a past officer and former member of the Board of Directors. He also served as president of both The American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the Texas Section of the International College of Dentists.
