Dr. Wang is a professor of periodontics. Since joining the faculty of UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston, she has focused her teaching and research on periodontal diseases. She also practices as a periodontist in the faculty practice, UT Dentists.
After completing her residency training in periodontology, Dr. Wang was appointed as an assistant professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2005. In 2011, she became an associate professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry.
She is a past winner of the Educator Award and the Bud and Linda Tarrson Fellowship Career Development Award for Academic Periodontists from the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Neal W. Chilton Fellowship in Clinical Research from the American Association for Dental Research.
