Dr. Muhammad Walji is the associate dean for technology services and informatics and a professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry. His research interests are focused on using informatics approaches to improve the quality and safety of oral health.
He serves as the principal investigator of an NIDCR-funded study titled, "Developing a Patient Safety System for Dentistry," which has the goal of identifying adverse events in dentistry. He also serves as co-investigator on two additional NIDCR grants focused on the development and dissemination of a standardized dental diagnostic terminology called the EZCodes.
