Louise Pilares, DMD, serves as the continuing education and events specialist in the PACE Center. In this role, her main focus is planning, organizing, and managing continuing dental education programs and coordinating the dental preceptorships in collaboration with UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry's Advanced Education Programs.
Upon graduating dental school in the Philippines in 2018, Dr. Pilares moved to Houston and started working as a dental assistant.
While new to PACE team, Dr. Pilares is a familiar face at the School of Dentistry. She began her journey at the dental school working as a dental assistant in the student clinics, mainly the Assessment Clinic and The Fondren Foundation Special Patient Clinic. Most recently, Dr. Pilares served as the educational programs coordinator in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene, supporting dental hygiene admissions and providing educational program and faculty support.
In 2023, she received the University Classified Staff Council Staff Recognition Spotlight Award, which recognizes classified staff members who illustrate caring, commitment, integrity, and knowledge.
In her spare time, she enjoys include painting, drawing, photography, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. Dr. Pilares is interested in contemporary arts, horticulture, and various genres of music, movies, and shows.
