Dr. Kathy Gibson is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health.
Dr. Gibson is a 1986 graduate of the UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She joined the UTSD faculty in 2012 and still maintains a private practice in general dentistry in Houston, Texas. Dr. Gibson treats many physically and intellectually disabled individuals in her practice.
Dr. Gibson is a member of the American Dental Education Association and the American Association of Dental Editors and Journalists. She has served as Past President of the Ninth District Dental Society and the Chair of the Star of the South Dental Meeting. She is a member of the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
In addition to her duties in clinical education, Dr. Gibson is a course contributor and course director of multiple courses and electives covering diagnosis and treatment planning, ethics, insurance and practice management.
