Tulsi Patel joined UTHealth School of Dentistry as a clinical assistant professor in 2016. She previously worked with the School of Dental Hygiene Studies at Pacific University, in Hillsboro, Oregon. While at Pacific, she instructed in dental hygiene, local anesthesia and restorative clinics, and supervised students at off-site rotations working with expanded functions to deliver oral care to underserved populations.
She completed her master’s internship with the School of Dental Hygiene Studies at Pacific University, where she helped develop a quality assurance program to be used with axiUm. The focus of her two-year-long master’s capstone project was on developing a wellness center that addressed integrated care and the triple aim of health care reform.
Her professional activities include membership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). She is a member of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national dental hygiene honor society, holding alumni membership in the Delta Delta Xi chapter.
Ms. Patel enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. She is committed to creating a positive and open learning environment for students and encouraging them to expand the potential of their profession.
