Biosketch
Dr. Lauten is a 1982 graduate of The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, affectionately known as “The Pink Palace.” He received his B.A. in Microbiology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 1977, where he also lettered in Football from 1973-1976. Dr. Lauten spent 42 years in private practice in Houston and 35 years as owner of Meyer Park Dental Care prior to joining the UTSD faculty in 2025. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health.
