Cleverick C.D. Johnson

Dr. Cleverick (C.D.) Johnson is a tenured professor and vice chair of the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health. He holds the Mr. Justin Koh and Dr. Sheila Koh Professorship and currently directs the school's Urgent Care Clinic.

A 1986 graduate of UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston, he joined the UTSD faculty in 1990 but maintained a continuous private practice until retiring from that practice in fall 2013.

Dr. Johnson's previous service at UTSD includes 12 years as director of recruitment for the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs. He was active on local, state and national committees and boards and has held many positions in organized dentistry. Dr. Johnson's research interests include oral diagnosis, oral identification of substance-abusing patients, and identifying improved methods for educating dental students.
