Webinar series partnership will bring speakers from across the country into the library of educational programs available through the PACE Center.

When dental offices, educational institutions, and the world was confronted by the COVID-19 pandemic, continuing dental education (CDE) providers across the country innovated programs and discovered new ways to educate dental professionals on the latest trends and foundational principals in oral health. The PACE Center at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry is one of many long-standing members of the Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE) who united to gain a new perspective on CDE programs.

ACDE forged an alliance between 31 dental school CDE programs that collectively launched a series of live, interactive webinars. The series kicked off March 16 and will continue through 2022. This partnership brings well-known, high-level speakers from across the country into the library of educational programs available to the School of Dentistry’s network of oral health professionals.

This is an opportunity to expand the line-up of CDE speakers, allowing attendees to gain exposure to new concepts, tips, specialties, and the latest advancements.

“I would absolutely recommend attending this series,” said Assistant Professor Maryam Tabrizi, RDH, DMD, MPH. “It’s about networking and having more people know the importance of oral health.”

The series will include topics over geriatrics, anesthesia/sedation, oral pathology, digital dentistry, prosthodontics, sleep medicine, temporomandibular disorders/orofacial pain, pediatric dentistry, and many more.

The individual lectures will be either 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 credit hours and will be held at a variety of times. Each lecture is hosted by a different school, but registration and attendance will be managed by the school which the individual registered with.

Participants registering with UTSD can expect to receive an email within the following week of the attended lecture, inviting them to fill out an evaluation and obtain their credit letter.

Course fees are $39 for 1.0 hour, $59 for 1.5 hours, and $69 for 2.0 hours; there will be no discounts associated with this series. Please note that space is limited.

Register for the webinars at Go.uth.edu/ACDE.
