Anderson recognized with UCSC’s Staff Recognition Spotlight Award

Sean Anderson of UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry has been named a 2025 Staff Recognition Spotlight Award recipient from the University Classified Staff Council.
The award honors classified staff members who demonstrate caring, commitment, integrity, knowledge, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Winners were selected from among hundreds of nominations submitted by university colleagues.
Anderson, a research assistant in the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences, was one of seven UTHealth Houston employees recognized during UCSC’s annual workshop on July 11 in the Denton A. Cooley, MD and Ralph C. Cooley, DDS University Life Center.
Anderson, who works in the lab of Nadarajah Vigneswaran, BDS, DrMedDent, DMD, was noted for his unwavering compassion and dedication.
“Sean has remained a constant source of comfort, encouragement, and inspiration to everyone he encounters,” said his colleagues. “Sean’s ability to create an atmosphere of warmth and reassurance is unparalleled. He has a gift — a rare and powerful one — for making others feel safe, seen, and valued.”
Additional 2025 honorees included Kimberly Henderson-Adigun, assistant director of research administration at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health; Juan Hernandez, administrative manager at McGovern Medical School; Alexander Nartey, manager of IT security research with university administration; Anahy Quintanilla, patient access representative with UT Physicians; Keuchie Reed, assistant director of admissions and recruitment at Cizik School of Nursing; and Martha Shumaker, administrative manager at McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth Houston.
