Kiat-amnuay named director of International Scholarship Training Program
Professor Sudarat Kiat-amnuay, DDS, MS, has been named the director of the International Scholarship Training Program (ISTP) at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, effective July 1.
Kiat-amnuay has served as the director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) since 2012 and taught in the AEGD and General Practice Residency programs for the past 22 years. Under her leadership, the AEGD program received a HRSA grant of nearly $1.3 million.
With support from Dean John A. Valenza, DDS, she founded the ISTP, the first official international program at the School of Dentistry, in 2012. In 2019, President Giuseppe Colasurdo, MD, officially approved the expansion of the ISTP to all UTHealth Houston schools.
As part of her role, Kiat-amnuay will organize the student/faculty exchange program between sister institutions and focus on branding the School of Dentistry and UTHealth Houston globally.
Kiat-amnuay received her DDS degree from Khon Kaen University Faculty of Dentistry in Thailand. She completed her master’s in oral biology and prosthodontics from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Kiat-amnuay also holds certificates in maxillofacial prosthetics and oncologic dentistry from MD Anderson Cancer Center and her AEGD training at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry.
