UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry celebrated Sterile Processing Week, observed Oct. 12-18, by recognizing the skilled and dedicated sterilization and dental dispensary team within Clinical and Educational Support Services.

Sterile Processing Week — formerly known as International Central Service Week — honors the essential professionals who work behind the scenes to ensure safe, sterile environments for patient care. Their expertise supports infection prevention, patient safety, and the smooth operation of clinical services throughout the School of Dentistry.

The sterilization and dental dispensary team plays a vital role in preparing and maintaining instruments and equipment for both patient care and student education. Their attention to detail and commitment to high standards help make exceptional care possible every day.

Held annually beginning the second Sunday in October, Sterile Processing Week recognizes the achievements of sterile processing professionals and their ongoing contributions to quality service and patient safety.
