More than 115 alumni and guests enjoyed an evening of fellowship and baseball during UTHealth Houston’s Alumni Gameday on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Minute Maid Park.

The School of Dentistry PACE Center and Dean John A. Valenza, DDS ’81, hosted alumni, faculty, staff, and their guests for happy hour and view of the ball game from the Brew House Deck as the Houston Astros took on the Oakland Athletics.

When surveyed, alumni attendees praised the experience.

One alumni attendee said, “The Alumni Gameday was great. We had a ‘ball.’ We got to see a lot of alumni and visit with old friends. I would do it again.”

Another said, “My Alumni Gameday experience was excellent. I sincerely hope that similar events can be held annually.”

The School of Dentistry’s next alumni outing will be held at SmileCon 2022, as the American Dental Association Annual Session returns to Houston after nearly 50 years. Alumni are invited to join the PACE Center and the UTSD Alumni Association for the Alumni and Friends Reception on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 13, at Hilton Americas Houston. Registration is required for this event and can be completed at Go.uth.edu/HoustonAlumni. Deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 7.
