UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Friday, Jan. 2, in observance of winter break. The School of Dentistry will reopen Monday, Jan. 5, and clinical operations will resume that afternoon. The Urgent Care Clinic is by appointment only.

School of Dentistry to host blood drive March 21

UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry will host a blood drive in conjunction with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 21.

Donors must be at least 18 years old and present valid ID. Appointments are strongly encouraged and may be made online.

More than 800 donations per day are needed by patients in the Texas Gulf Coast region. One blood donation could help save up to three lives.

The School of Dentistry routinely holds blood drives throughout the calendar year. At its Dec. 6, 2022, date, 33 units of blood were collected, which will be used to save 99 lives.

UTHealth Houston’s Miscellaneous Leave Policy (HOOP 185) allows paid time off for eligible employees to donate blood up to four times per fiscal year. Documentation is required.
