Assistant Professor Danielle Wu, PhD, of UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry has received a nearly $300,000 grant from the National Science Foundation.
The grant will fund her project, titled “Collaborative Research: Data-driven Mechanomics to Uncover Age-related Mechanoregulation of Bone,” and will run for four years.
Wu’s research will focus on the role of mesenchymal stem cells in musculoskeletal tissue repair, exploring how physical activity influences their behavior. The project aims to mimic the mechanical signals of physical activity to develop biotechnologies that enhance tissue regeneration and improve medical outcomes.
