The School of Dentistry will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2, and clinical operations resume Monday, Jan. 6. The Urgent Care Clinic will reopen by appointment only.
The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston offers numerous courses for dental professionals. Courses are available for all disciplines of dentistry, including general dentists, specialists, dental hygienists and dental assistants. The mission and goals of The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston Office of Continuing Dental Education are to assist in broadening technical, scientific, patient care and management skills of practitioners within our service area for the betterment of dental services for patients. We do this by (a) providing short-term courses in dentistry that are technical and/or scientific and clinically oriented; (b) providing participants with opportunities to evaluate new ideas, techniques and materials; (c) providing the newest techniques and materials available in dentistry and (d) reviewing current accepted modalities in dental therapy for general practitioners, specialists, hygienists, assistants and lab technicians.
The UTSD Continuing Dental Education Program is an important component of the institution and essential to UTSD’s ability to carry out its mission. The School of Dentistry strives to instill an attitude of lifelong learning in its graduates. Through its commitment to continuing education, the school provides an avenue for its students, faculty, staff, graduates and other members of the profession to add to their dental scholarship.
The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston Office of Continuing Dental Education is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.
The formal continuing dental education programs of this sponsor are accepted by the AGD Pace Program for Fellowship/Mastership credit. The current term of acceptance extends from 11/01/2011 to 12/13/2015. The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston is a member of the Association for Continuing Dental Education.
